ANGEL GAME 1: GROUP A

[You enter the tent to find yourself in what appears to be a conference room in the sky. The walls and ceiling consist of a glass dome, outside of which a raging thunderstorm can be seen. If you approach the wall, you’ll find the room seems to be floating. Down below is a forest, but it’s raining so hard that it’s impossible to make out any details.

The inside of the room has only a large, circular table. In the center is open space, and around the outer edge are high-backed chairs. In front of each chair is a paper with a copy of the rules -- when everyone sits, the game will begin.

In Group A is: ginger, thyme, & licorice.]

We are absolutely not pardoning this one.

[Emilia rubs her face, and climbs off the table. Pulls glove back on.]

For Light's sake. Are we making laws for a whole country, now? It doesn't matter, just kill him.

It matters exactly as much as the monster's situation did.

No, no. The monster was born a monster, this man - made a choice.

He had to know whatever he did could have resulted in his victim's death. If he didn't, he's a fool.

We don't know what the law is. Why is it full pardon or execution? Why isn't there an in-between? 5 years? 15? Is this a wholly punitive system and how is rehabilitory sentencing viewed?

No, it isn't. Even if he was telling the truth, accidentally killing someone while trying to rob them is still murder.

Execute the man under the condition that the bereaved family provide compensation to the murderer's family. They have their revenge, his family is fed.

It isn't the victim's family's responsibility. Accident or not, the man killed someone in the process of stealing from them. He's the one who made that decision.

Alright. It appears the majority of us are united in the decision to execute. However, we should take a formal vote. I, for one, am for execution.

Execute him. If there is a fund for widows and orphans let the criminal's family have access to it.

Re: VOTE

I disagree. If the majority of evidence outside of his confession, which itself should be reconfirmed, proves without doubt that he did the crime, then he should be sentenced. I would recommend imprisonment, with the option for parole and work order. I do not support execution as a general policy.
