ANGEL GAME 1: GROUP A

[You enter the tent to find yourself in what appears to be a conference room in the sky. The walls and ceiling consist of a glass dome, outside of which a raging thunderstorm can be seen. If you approach the wall, you’ll find the room seems to be floating. Down below is a forest, but it’s raining so hard that it’s impossible to make out any details.

The inside of the room has only a large, circular table. In the center is open space, and around the outer edge are high-backed chairs. In front of each chair is a paper with a copy of the rules -- when everyone sits, the game will begin.

In Group A is: ginger, thyme, & licorice.]

It matters exactly as much as the monster's situation did.

No, no. The monster was born a monster, this man - made a choice.

He had to know whatever he did could have resulted in his victim's death. If he didn't, he's a fool.

The monster was a suspect of murder. He is a suspect of murder. They should both be treated fairly, whether or not one is more pitiable than the other.

But we know this one did it.

I'm in favor of executing someone that did it. I think that's fair.

Is it fair if it was an accident? We don't know if it was an accident or not, it explicitly said that. Would you kill someone for being a fool? And we barely know anything, just that someone died. Did the other guy die on scene? Was he stabbed or did he hit his head in a scuffle? Did he die of wounds later? If the injuries had been treated and he recovered, would the suspect still be executed for those?

I don't like the full pardon, since that doesn't fix anything either, but I don't support the death sentence in general, and especially not when this scenario presents it as a vengeful sentencing rather than to contain malice. I would rather give him an extended sentence with the eventual option of parole.

[don't support it in general

parole?

extended sentence.

This has gotta be a vastly different justice system than one Emilia's used to, where it's Hang Him or The Dungeon.]

Just put him in the stockade or something?... Maybe if it was just the theft.

Is the stockade like prison or like... the stocks?

It's a more permanent prison than a dungeon, has to be built special. For someone you want to keep in there for decades, I guess.

If you've done something that bad it's ... really easier just to kill you, which is why you don't get caught.
