You awaken slowly, laying in the middle of a cold, hard stone floor … and realise that you have absolutely no idea where you are, or what in all the hells is wrong with your body.

Maybe you're suddenly bigger than you remember, or smaller. Maybe you've got more limbs! Less limbs! Sharper teeth? Weird, unfamiliar powers and magic to tap into, or perhaps no powers at all? Without a mirror, it's very difficult to tell exactly what — or perhaps, who? — you look like … but maybe whoever else is around you could help you figure that out.

UNDERGROUND LAKE

You enter the Underground Lake! The water is cold and dark, and it's impossible to say where it comes from, or how deep it must be towards the middle. The only light comes from glowing iridescent moss growing up the cavern walls. Oh, and the smouldering remains of the chasm bridge high, high above ...

If you came down the stairs, you're standing safe and dry on the rocky shore. Well. Mostly safe. Some of the aforementioned bridge debris is scattered around, still smouldering.

So this is where we would have ended up if the bridge had dropped us...

Still, a long drop into water hurts.

I do too. Who knows what else we might have dealt with beyond the bats.

A cold, wet, slimy tentacle shoots out of the water, wrapping tight around your wrist before you have a chance to dodge.

It tugs hard, dragging you towards the water.

[Kicking up the staff to grip between his legs because ONE HAND.]

[HE IS HUNTING DOWN THIS BOY AND GETTING HIM A SECOND ARM.]

[But it's gonna be some wild aim at TENTACLES AND WATER and probably a lot of boiling water he's not gonna enjoy.]
