You awaken slowly, laying in the middle of a cold, hard stone floor … and realise that you have absolutely no idea where you are, or what in all the hells is wrong with your body.

Maybe you're suddenly bigger than you remember, or smaller. Maybe you've got more limbs! Less limbs! Sharper teeth? Weird, unfamiliar powers and magic to tap into, or perhaps no powers at all? Without a mirror, it's very difficult to tell exactly what — or perhaps, who? — you look like … but maybe whoever else is around you could help you figure that out.

[Today is Felix's lucky day.

My nickel says tails and that means it misses. But boy is Felix going to reflexively aim to kick it off the box, keeping his head far away from that thing.

Whether he gets it or not, he's backing the hell up.]

You think I could change the shape of a weapon I just pulled out of thin air?

I would suggest taking similar caution with the other plants as well. They might not be as harmless as they appear.

I'd assume the others will be just as nasty, just to be on the safe side. Whatever that plant just spit out looks like it really could have been an issue.

[Blind is an absolutely terrible JRPG status effect to be hit with in a dungeon.]

Why not give it a try? At least as long as you don't get too close to them I don't think they'll strike you first.

Cactus spines can hurt a lot if you're not careful. Not sure on the tomato, but...

Okay, let's give this a shot.

[Holding out his wand and closing his eyes. Just likes transmutations, that's all. It formed from nothing, it can change with nothing. It can become more. Focus, focus, focus-]

[And staff get after a minute, opening one eye and then grinning.] Ha! Channel magic is a go.

Okay, get to one side and I'll push them to the other.

I knocked the one off to the side there, you can send the rest with it.

[So he'll get off to the opposite side to give Mao room to work his magic.]

[Gonna whack the cactus and tomato to join mister wiggles.]

Those were the nicely ripe, juicy tomatoes as the plant hits the floor.

The cactus' pot doesn't survive, but it, too, seems to be nothing more than a simple potted plant.

....well, that's a shame. [He likes cactuses. And tomatoes. But safety is important.]

So, open the crates and I prepare to fireball?

I guess it was just the one after all.

You got it! I shouldn’t have any problem getting them open.

[He’s going to keep a safe distance, prying the crates open with his claws; but definitely ready to back off if necessary.]

The first chest he pries open contains two boxes of chalk, a number of black tattered robes, a set of surgical scrubs, and a stack of twelve photographs.

[Well, nothing popped out at them.]

[Gonna reach for the photographs.]

They're individual, candid photographs of twelve unfamiliar people, ranging in age from fourteen to sixty. Each one has a big red "x" scrawled over them.

[Is there blood on the surgical scrubs? Or the tattered robes?]

[Or any other identifying markings for that matter.]

There are no bloodstains on the scrubs, but there are traces on the robes. He won't find any identifying marks at all.

It looks like it could be various medical supplies...

Should we open the next crate?

[Picking up a piece of the chalk.] This is what was used to draw on the floor in the first room, correct?

Most likely, yes.

Perhaps we are meant to escape via the reverse of whatever method brought us here?

[In any case, she's pocketing several pieces of chalk. Let's hope they don't get too dinged up sharing pocket space with coal.]

There are robes in here.

Enough for all of us? While there is only one of the other garment. [Going to count them.]
