Partners In Peril: Felix and Loki

[Whether willing or just, there comes a magical shove to force you and someone else through the door leading down into the earth.]

[The passageway is cold, but at least it's well lit. Albeit with flames of blue fire.]

[It goes down, down, down, until you reach the first part....]

[Loki steps forward.]

[No musical note this time.]

[Instead its pain as electricity courses through him, far more intense than it was at the door. It won't kill him, but the shock is lasting longer, and it's more intense-]

[And when it subsides, Loki is going to feel his knees give out.]

[No time for instructions, which way does Loki fall?]

[Screaming. A lot of it.]

[He is going to lean the way he came, to the west, hoping to fall into the safe square.]

[Perhaps the safest choice he could have made.]

[There will be a lingering effects of shock. Not as strong as that one, it's going to be a problem for sure.]

[As Felix pushes the button]

[There's a sliding and clicking sound.]

[Once he gets Felix's okay, he scoots over to the east, still sitting, but moving as fast as he can. Racing the ticking sound.]

[The clicking was just once.]

[Perhaps the new, non-painful square that was in the electric shock's place.]

[He will get up into a crouching position, once again feeling for the edges, this time with his hands. Once he's certain he's oriented to the east, he'll move four squares.]

[Four more musical notes.]

[Turn north, shuffle up one square.]

[deee]

[Three to the east now. Being very careful not to cross the fourth edge.]

[He doesn't have to think about the fourth edge quite yet.]

[The first square, he suddenly feel a surge of electricity through him again. More comparable to what he felt when he entered the room then when he stepped on the square.]

[But not a funtime.]

[Less screaming and more swearing, then. And glad he's still in a crouch position, makes it much easier to roll back into his old square. Also mentally resolving to take one step just over the edge from now on, so going back is literally just one roll backwards.]

[The shock seems to linger even after he rolls back, but it does fade after a few moments.]

[There is a distance sliding and clicking]

[He's on his feet and waiting for that sound. Or screams for Felix. But even though he doesn't hear anything from the latter, he still strides four squares east, doing his best to cover each square in one pace, edge to edge.]

[Loki crosses that first square.]

[Nothing happens.]

[Then he goes the other three and lands on what had been the danger square and nothing happens.]

[He's got new directions, but he'll use the same method to go five more squares east.]

[Loki heads east, it seems smooth sailing.]

[Until he hits that final square.]

[Another shock. This time less than the doorway, but still not a pleasant time.]

[And quickly stepping back to the fourth square while grunting in pain. Good thing it should be just a short step back.]

[Back on that square again.]

[Distant slide and click]

[Quickly striding one east, one north, one east, barely pausing to double-check the edges.]

[Dee doo dee]

[Three north.]
